What is meditation?

Despite what you think you’ve heard about Meditation and its popularity, in our society very few people truly know what meditation is. Meditation is not sitting and sleeping, meditation does not mean chanting, meditation is not a secret. Meditation is not a religion and can be practiced by anybody regardless of the faith they follow. Meditation is an awareness of emptiness of thoughts. Meditation means transforming of the mind. Meditation is like a seed. When you cultivate a seed with love, the more it blossoms. Meditation is the absence of outside noise. Meditation is a practice to master by stopping the mind chatter. Meditation is your moment with your higher self. In my opinion meditation is the bridge, the doorway to higher dimensions. The main purpose of meditation is to sit down, calm the mind and observe the thoughts through breathing, as thoughts come to mind, acknowledge them but allow them to drift. With time eventually you will completely slowdown and stop your brain’s activities. .

There are different techniques to help you arrive at a state of thoughtless awareness while you monitor your breathing. which will be very difficult as our mind will throw excuses to distract us from taking control. This is called the beginning of an inner transformation that takes us to a higher level of awareness.
